II.  Description of Data Content

1. The first line is the QC version.

2. The 2nd line to the 17th line contain profile basic information, that is, platform, observation time, observation position, overall quality of profile, number of observation levels, etc.. Left of “=” is the name of data item and right is the value. Detail date items and their descriptions see the following table:

Line

Item

Format

3

Platform No.

WMO No.

4

Cycle No.

Cycle number in the original file is possibly same as the sequence number,  maybe different from the sequence number, or it is also possible to be “0”.

5

Direction

Profile data are observed in the ascending or descending process of platform. “A” means in ascending process. “D” means in descending process. “U” means no information on it.

6

Juld

Actual observation date of profile, i.e. Julian Day.

7

Reference date time

Reference date time of Juld time

8

Observation date time

Observation time of profile (yyyy-mm-dd HH:MM:SS)conversed from Juld time and reference time.

9

Latitude

Latitude of profile, from –90 to 90

10

Longitude

Longitude of profile, from –180 to 180

11

Profile QC

Three characters, respectively describe the original time QC, the observation position QC and the profile QC of the CADC. Their meanings see the QC descriptions.

12

Pressure QC

Two characters, respectively describe the original unit pressure QC and the pressure QC of the CADC. Their meanings see the QC descriptions.

13

Temperature QC

Two characters, respectively describe the original temperature QC and the temperature QC of the CADC. Their meanings see the QC description.

14

Salinity QC

Two characters, respectively describe the original salinity QC and the salinity QC of the CADC. Their meanings see the QC description.

15

Parameters

Parameters measured in the profile. PRES, TEMP and PSAL are pressure, temperature and salinity respectively. They are separated by blank.

16

Levels

Number of observation levels of the profile

17

Data mode

R: quasi-real time mode D: Delayed mode

18

Center

Data center

19

Instrument type

Instrument type of Argo float

3The 18th line to the 26th line contain the data values.
